sweet moses smell the roses!

what's with the witches? you are older than ken, and yet you still use "witch" for "which"...

I love America.

anyhow, i hate being 15, b/c everyone thinks i'm in my twenties when i talk to them.... ohh well. I guess i'll be twenty some time, then people will think i'm thirty... on second thought: i'm better off 15.

Damn I feel like the old man on the board:p Im 19 and wish I started programming years ago. Now im too old to learn new tricks and I can see the top of the hill. Im my day yahoo chat was the coolest, 28.8 modems were considered the next best thing to sliced bread and we were just starting to incorporate acronyms into everyday conversation.

I made LOL what it is today, without me you would still be typing something like "im laughing" or "laugh" or "my ass is jiggling because im laughing so hard". That's not all I contributed, have you ever heard of "brb"? or "wtf"? That was all me. You might call me a pioneer of the computer jargon language, but now that im old I can't think of anything new and clever.

Do any of you other senior (old geezers) members remember when you school teachers didn't know how to press play on the VCR's and you had to show them how to work them? Well your day's of glory are over.

Now I'll need my 5 year old brother to show me how to write an email and keep me up to date on the latest internet slang so I know what the hell people are saying while im playing Diablo 2. When im 30 ill probably be totally helpless and will never leave my house because I won't know how to work a damn thing. Any opinions on my post?:D

// edited by da... that was so good it deserved honorable code tags...

10-10-2001, 08:29 PM
umm... nope, sorry (j/k)...

my friend (who is my age) was the first person to ever use "brt" and i am the creater of the word "erf".... but that is nothing compared to your outstanding achievements.

10-10-2001, 08:31 PM

what am I then... dirt?

10-10-2001, 08:35 PM

GGAAHHH!!! You make me look like a damned model! :D:D

> Do any of you other senior (old geezers) members remember when you school teachers didn't know how to press play on the VCR's and you had to show them how to work them?

::raises hand:: You betcha! I also remember when I was in, say, 3rd grade or so, helping out in the computer lab at my elementary school showing people how to print and the like... I got in trouble because 1 print in color used up all the ink in the cartridges...

10-11-2001, 08:37 AM
Haha, did the VCR thing loads.

I solved a "computer problem" at school when I was 8, by removing the 5 1/2 inch disk from the drive, turning it the right way up and putting it back again. The really bad thing was I had to be summoned from another class to do this and the teacher who'd messed up was the headteacher (Principal), so some other kid turned up saying the headmaster wanted to see me and I should go back with him. I was so worried...

I do not think that you have spelled govt's name right yet, Rick. ;)

10-11-2001, 12:57 PM
That's okay - I've gotten used to it... No one seems to be able to... Also, people that meet me the first time have trouble pronouncing my name sometimes...(why the hell is "Jeremy" so bloody difficult?) Maybe they're unsettled by my godlike presence... Yeah, that's the ticket....

10-11-2001, 02:07 PM

10-11-2001, 02:49 PM
Congratulations! For spelling it correctly, you win a boot to the head!

Boot to the head...

I wonder what would happen if a woman on this board posted a picture of herself.... all hell would break loose.

10-12-2001, 11:46 PM
>all hell would break loose.

unfortunately i do agree... i would like this board to have been as mature towards our sex as it would be towards programming... but apparently not...

10-13-2001, 01:26 AM
::minimises porn site window::

What was that about maturity? lol :D

10-13-2001, 01:56 AM
