Yeh I like the Joshua tree. Also, the song Angel of Harlem is one of my all time favourites. Not keen on their later stuff though.

Ramones!! Man it's been so long!!!
Speaking of punk, do you remember:
-circle jerks
-the exploited
-suicidal tendencies
-the misfits
-sex pistols
-butthole surfers

Ha!

Sadly, I was overexposed to 60's/70's music growing up and can't even tolerate even the best ones any more ( even pink floyd :( )

These days I hardly ever listen to music (nor watch tv). It breaks my concentration when I'm programming. Which means the only song I ever listen to is the "Sound of Silence"...:D

i love the circle jerks, and the exploited. Sex pistols i think are way overrated. I hate their music but respect them for what they did for the punk scene. Completely hate the misfits too. I'm not too big on the suicidal tendencies, but someone gave me one of their cd's a while back and it was decent. As far as pink floyd, hell it's the what 2000's now, and they're still way overplayed ( :

Sebastiani and hostensteffa, familiar with any of the following?:

cock sparrer
peter and the test tube babies
blanks 77
combat 84
blitz
angelic upstarts
cockney rejects
slaughter and the dogs
the business
the clash

I don't suspect you've heard of any (except for the Clash), but if you have, GOOD FOR YOU. They're all definitely some classy music :)

If I had to pick a single band, it would probably have to be Pink Floyd, as I have them on most often, but I go for weeks without them some times. It is very much a mood thing.

Variety is the spice of life, (and chilli is the spice of food).

Single band would have to be Guns and Roses. And the best album, in my eyes, is appetite(sp) for destruction.

Also Genesis when Peter Gabriel was still in the band. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway record album's liner notes alone were worth the price.

Jello Biafra (If he counts as a band)

Yeah, one that likes to talk more than it likes to sing :D

Y'know, I popped in the Dark Side of The Moon yesterday, and it sounded fresh and alive! Man, what a timeless band!

Yeah, Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground formed one of the greatest bands, I believe. Check out the one with Nico (banana on the cover ), nice rock 'n roll.

Funny thing, I have spent my whole life around the Latino culture, and still love 30 year old rancheros from the likes of Los Rancheritos Del Topo Chico and Las Invasores Del Nuevo Leon. /*sigh*/Now there's some music that sings from the heart! But all of you are UK'ers and Northern US'ers and wouldn't enjoy it much. (I promise you  )

well...i have over 250 cd's so it's really hard to name em...i can pick four catagories though:

heavy metal: Soil (www.soilmusic.com)
blues-rock: Kenny Wayne Shepard Band (http://www.kwsband.com/)
punk: Green Day (www.greenday.com) (dookie, insomniac)
alternative: NickelBack (www.nickelback.com) and Pearl Jam (www.pearljam.com)

I listen to music constantly, it's sort of what relieves any stress i have, it just overall elevates my mood. It's going to get even better by christmas though, i'm getting a new ibanez guitar. :)
God help the neighbors.
