For one of my classes, I would like to do a presentation on 3d modelling and graphics cards but I have to incorporate it into programming, and its relevance. Does anyone know of any good sites, which explain what type of programming is needed for graphics cards and 3D modelling.

I did a search, couldnt find any spefics though.

Thanks.

OpenGL, DirectX - these are the main API's

3d graphics card makers sometimes have API's for their hardware (www.nvidia.com) but mostly they will support DirectX and OpenGL for this.

www.gamedev.net

Just look for sites about OpenGL, DirectX or there's a good one called Allegro but that really is just a wrapper for DirectX and OpenGL.

Do you have a 3D modeling program?
