You missed out on like 40% of Operating systems, if not more...

Linux mandrake 8.2

and at the very moment, WindowMaker Desktop. I'm also accessing this website with Mozilla.

In a few moments I'm going to switch window managers and web browsers though.

This is definately the best OS I have ever used.

Switched to IceVM or something like that and I'm using Gnome Galleon to surf the net. I like this browser, maybe as much as konqueror.

Or is this kind of a crappy poll?

btw.. does Vbullit give you a hit statistics readout? That would be a good way to see the figures.

Something like this (http://www.aspectus.com/modules.php?name=Statistics) ?

(snuck in another aspectus plug)

Whoa, its suprising to me that Linux was most popular OS and Opera was most popular browser.

Troll_King
09-13-2002, 07:58 AM
I've never tried Opera, but I'm sure it's on here somewhere. i like Galeon though.

Aspectus is comprised almost entirely of UFies, and UFies are more partial to Linux than Joe lUser.

I'm posting this from a pure text webbrowser called RXVT. This is insanely weird. There are no graphics, yet I'm online and writing this on this website?

I've posted here from LYNX before. Also text-based.

Troll_King

It's a bit complicated. I'd rather use a window but I had to try the text based browser out.

Im running Windows ME, please help me! I get so many errors everyday its not even funny, my reboot button sure does get a workout. Moving up to XP very shortly.

I also have Mandrake 8.1, but there are some settings I have to change since the refresh rate is too fast, and I dont know how, so Im stuck with ME for now.

>You missed out on like 40% of Operating systems, if not more...<

Seriously. I mean, if you're gonna have a poll like this and not give us more choices, then at least put "Other" as a choice.

I currently boot these:

Windows 98SE
Windows 2000 Pro
Windows 2000 Server
Windows XP Corporate
FreeDOS (Gotta love DOS.)
BeOS 5
QNX RTP

But, I'm currently using Windows 2000 Pro the most. It's an excellent system.

And you might wanna make a distinction between OS and shell, even on windows. I've seen someone running Windows use the game Black and White as their shell instead of explorer.exe. They also have an irritating version of LiteStep for a windows shell. That and there is always cmd.exe.

Windows XP

MethodMan, I feel sorry for you.
My g/f has ME, and untill then I have never had the chance to be tortured by it.
My lord, what an irritating operating system.

I had 98SE for the longest time before XP, 98SE wasn't bad.

Ah, De Ja Vu!

It isn't. I use no firewalls, virus scanners, or formatting.
Fast, clean, and zero blue screens of death on either OS.

I like XP better though.

He's right, I rued the day I "upgraded" to ME from 98. It was responsible for some of the most obscure problems I have ever come across on a PC.

I'm using a lot of OS'es. On PC's the Windows variants NT and 98. At home I'm also having QNX. At other systems I'm currently using OS-9000 most.
