Hi, since u all read the subject, u all know what i'm looking for, and yes, it's for educational use(only). I would completely understand the fact if you do not want to help me becuase i should do my own damn work, but after searching for 3.5 straight hours, i've given up. i have no clue where to get one, i did find a few sites with some songs, but there was no place to download them from (this is not going to be illegal becuase i will only use the song to do a (stupid) peper).
if anyone can help me with this, i will be very thankful!!

A couple recent ones are "The Rising" by Bruce Springsteen, and also Toby Keith has some songs on his new album - both are abou september 11

If you want something else - there's a ton of people that wrote about vietnam...

Metallica - One

is a very good song. it deals with the after effects soldiers have once they come back from war.

Yeah, but I'm sure he would rather to a band that doesn't suck.

No doubt about it, Metallica sucks now, but Metallica by no means at all sucked when they released that song on the album of And Justice For All. Metallica is on the best bands ever, IMO. Not many bands have produced that many quality albums, however, Metallica has also produced 3 really crappy albums (Load, ReLoad, S&M).:)

Regardless of all that, though, One is a very good choice for his song.

Alan Jackson's new hit single: "Where Were You?"

How about "Barry McGuire - Eve of destruction" ?

If you don't mind oldies, it's the stereotype and probably most famous song about world problems of the 'Nam era.

The eastern world, it is explodiní.
Violence flariní, bullets loadiní
Youíre old enough to kill, but not for votiní
You donít believe in war, but whatís that gun youíre totiní
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatiní

But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you donít believe
Weíre on the eve
of destruction.

Donít you understand what Iím tryiní to say
Canít you feel the fears Iím feeliní today?
If the button is pushed, thereís no runniní away
Thereíll be no one to save, with the world in a grave
Take a look around you boy
Itís bound to scare you boy

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you donít believe
Weíre on the eve
of destruction.

Yeah, my bloodís so mad feels like coagulatiní
Iím sitting here just contemplatiní
You canít twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators donít pass legislation
And marches alone canít bring integration
When human respect is disintegratiní
This whole crazy world is just too frustratiní

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you donít believe
Weíre on the eve
of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
You may leave here for 4 days in space
But when you return, itís the same old place
The poundiní of the drum, the pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead, but donít leave a trace
Hate your next-door neighbor, but donít forget to say grace
AndÖ tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend
You donít believe
Weíre on the eve
Of destruction
Mm, no no, you donít believe
Weíre on the eve
of destruction.

U2 have some good songs on world issues (Sunday Bloody Sunday, Seconds, Mothers of the Disappeared, One, If God Would Send His Angels, Peace on Earth).

Roger Waters has a stack of anti-war, anti-globalisation songs (one that sticks to mind is "Perfect Sense pts 1 & 2" from his "Amused to Death" album released in 1992). Or the somewhat hard to find "Towers of Faith" available now only on his "Flickering Flame" release.

Ooooh, the lonely boys
In their towers of faith
Ooooh, the lonely boys
Locked in their towers of faith

The prophet reclined
In the Golan Heights

Ohhh, the lonely boys

He said "This land is my land"
To the Shiites

Ooooh, the lonely boys

And Jehova looked up from the sea of Galilee beneath
He said "I see you, you thief!
This land is my land
And this sand is my sand
And this band is my band"

Oh the lonely boys
Lookin' over their shoulder
Checkin out every boulder in the park
Where the gates are closed from hate
After dark

And the Pope rolled up in his armored van
He fell on his knees and kissed the land
He said something that I did not understand
It was in polish
Then up stepped an aide, he said "I will translate
Here is what His Holiness said:
'I am the Chief Jesuit.
This land is Jesus' land.
And that is all
All that there is to it.'"

And in New York City
The business man in his mohair suit
In the world trade center
Puffs on his cheroot
And he said
"Well I don't care who owns the desert sands,
My brief
Is with the hydrocarbons underneath"

And the sea of battle rages around the ancient tombs
And mother nature licks her wounds
And the lonely boys locked in their towers of faith
Who are nervous in the park when the gates are closed after dark

Ooooh, the lonely boys
In their towers of faith
Ooooh, the lonely boys
Locked in their towers of faith

>>Metallica has also produced 3 really crappy albums (Load, ReLoad, S&M).<<

F**k off! Load is one of their best albums ever. Have you listened to it or are you just jumping on the bandwagon of anti-Metallica bull..........? Okay so ReLoad sucked arse (even I'll admit this), but S&M was great! You're clearly not a fan!

Well, starvation is a world issue, so how about "We are the world".

world issues eh...

how bout "HEAL THE WORLD" MICHAEL JACKSON it's old and It doesn't deals with a single specific world issue, but the the issues in general. I had to do a project like this once and i used that one. I didn't get a high mark(76.5%) but don't let that discourage you from using that song!
