some people think walking down the street muttering to yourself is crazy...but thats not crazy...walking around with half a cantalope on your head yelling, "I'm a hamster, I'm a hamster."...now thats crazy...

Maybe we should have a poll on that. Not many polls around here.

What isn't crazy when viewed by the correct person?

I talk to myself constantly when walking, the act of walking focuses the mind for problem-solving and verbalizing your thoughts solidifies them.

Talking to yourself isn't crazy. Listening is.

Well if I don't listen to myself then how will I know if I'm right? Or worse, how will I know when I'm wrong so that I can correct myself?

Well you verbalizing your thoughts is a little different than the one-eyed homeless guy down the block from me asking himself questions and anwsering in a southern accent :)

mostly i do the same thing at cprog or flashdaddee. when i have a problem, i start a post, ask questions, answer my own, rephrase questions, all this going on subconciously, then i hit the submit button. half the times i come up with a solution before hitting the submit button.

i guess this could explain why my post count at the general board is so disproportionately higher than c and c++ programming.

I talk to myself from time to time... but usually I find that if I write something down, it (the solution) becomes more apparent to me.

It's not always good talking to yourself. If you get an idea, and then you continue talking with yourself about your idea, you can finally start to believe in them. I guess this is the reason why I believe in Satan, and that everyone wants me to commit suicide. I also think that explosives are the only things worth living for.

I've talked to myself too much. I can only hear my own opinion all the time. I can't listen to anybody, because they just lie.

Go away, annoying insect.

And don't treat the Prelude lady that way. She's not a prostitute. You can't buy her, you'll just have to wait till she picks you - which will never happen.

I am the lucky one, I know that she likes me.

I have a feeling that she hates me, but she's too kind to tell me the truth. She probably wants me to shut up, maybe she even wants me to kill myself, it's nothing unusual, many people wants me to die.

I'm 20, although I behave like I was in your age.

I'm so extremely tired of acting smart, why would I want to learn all the lowlives around me alot of things when I get nothing back?

Does mumbling to yourself count as talking to yourself? I do that sometimes, when I have something to say, but dont really want someone else to hear it.

you know, series' comments (in style and form) bear a startling similarity to those made by that Emacs shrink program...just "I'm so depressed. Why does everyone hate me" instead of "Tell me more about your sex life"

So you know if you started talking to yourself in a positive way your life will be much better...
