"Knowledge is power."

"Power currupts."

hence: learn lots and be evil.

"who gives a rat's ass?"

\"sock it to me."

To be fair aran, I believe the correct quote is "Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

"who gives a rat's ass?"

i don't.. because i don't go around collecting rat's asses.

why would you walk around carrying rats' asses? that makes nill sense.

ken, how do you know i was quoting that guy? i've heard of that quote before, but i've heard the shortened version "power currupts" a few times and it fits best here. Don't shoot down my planes, they are over international waters.

[ooo, just remembered "Saddam houssain was having a great vacation until his wife was shot down as she para-glided because she was in the no-fly zone"]

The correct quote is "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
- Lord John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton

Aran - you're close but missing "tends to" so I would give the victory to Ken.

"I don't suffer fools gladly"

Ummm... who does?

Greed is always bad.
-Linus Torvalds

Ok so that one is actually pretty good, but I just read it and had to type it.... what the hell. ;)

"A chain is only as strong as the weakest link."

This one always gets me... hasn't anyone heard of fuses? Weakest links are great, which piece do you want to blow, the 500-dollar one or the 50-cent one?

Oh, another one...

"You can't teach an old dog new tricks."

An old man was illiteral all his life, and started learning to read when he was waaay ove the hill, just like stevey (jk =)... when he was asked why he was doing it, he said: "If not now, then when?"

"Who is more the fool; the fool, or the fool who follows him?"
-Obiwan Kenobi, Star Wars.

I often hear people mention "I could care less" when referring to a matter that they couldn't care less about.

"when the s**t hits the fan"

Now, when have you ever seen that happen?! :D

05-09-2002, 06:15 AM
"It was the least I could do"

What really, you actually couldn't have done nothing??

05-09-2002, 07:04 AM
"I'm working my ass off..."

Really? What exactly are you doing then? Maybe I don't want to know.
