Anyone who lives in devon/cornwall has probably experienced the wonder that is "Oggy Oggy Pasty Co".

Beats the hell outta fast food.

Are you people using the right word? Don't you
mean "Pastries?" If not, what's a pasty?

Aren't pasties those things that 'exotic dancers'
put over their boobies?

Hehe - I don't know about that, but... A pasty's a sorta meat pie... The ones I get around here have rutabegas, carrots, beef, onions, and potatoes in it... It's served w/ gravy... great stuff...

A CRAY is the only computer that runs an endless loop
in just 4 hours...That's great :D

A rutabega's a type of vegetable... I'm sure someone can enlighten us with a picture (as I'm too lazy to look)

OK..... Pop quiz. Anybody (uk residents excepted) know why they're that shape?

The clue is they originate in Cornwall, which is famous for tin-mining.

Why would anyone need supercomputers anyway?
all they do is run the weather program below:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <time.h>
#include <stdlib.h>

int main(void)
{
int weather;

sleep(1000000); /* to make it seem like it's calculating */
srand(time(NULL));
weather = rand() % 4;
switch(weather)
{
case 1: printf("Rainy"); break;
case 2: printf("Sunny"); break;
case 3: printf("Cloudy"); break;
default: printf("Windy"); break;
}
return 0;
}

Yup! Get out of here old man! People over 20 have no place here (a hush falls over the crowd as Govtcheez alienates all the smartest people on the board, and also rick)!

Actually, I just don't know.

Anyway.... the answer is ..........

because tin is extremely poisonous (in its ore form) miners needed something they could eat without ingesting the tin ore (no washing facilities in those days). The pasty was that shape so they could hold the crust to eat it, and then throw the (by now poisonous) crust away.

Fascinating, eh?

Computers vs Supercomputers

1. The only way to dicover the nature's law is "trial and error" (since Einstein is dead, remember, and nobody else proven his theory anyway)
2. Computers (normal or super) are programmed by humans.
3. Therefore, they produce the necessary errors.
4. More of them, the better.
5. Supercomputers can provide exactly the same results (see 3.), with an increased speed.
6. Time is money.
7. From which: suprecomputers are needed.

Because:
