View Full Version : Public blog

I have recently started a website which allows all registered users to post articles on a regular blog. The point is that not everyone has the time to run his own site but with OpenBlog he can post just whenever he likes and the blog still runs.

What do you think about it?

Doesn't that already exists in other sites? Sites that host blogs?
Nevertheless, It is really helpful as an idea :)

A wiki-blog?

Not to discourage you, but I can certainly see how it will become a huge mess. Some people will write about how they just broke up with his/her bf/gf, some people write about cooking recipes, some write about latest discoveries in theoretical physics, some write about news in the fashion world, and some will write about politics.... the list goes on.

The problem is, everyone has different things that they care about, so for any one person, most of the blog entries will be on things that s/he doesn't care about. So who's going to read the blog?

Hence we have invented tags to keep things organized even when there is no apparent organization.

By the way I thought the point of wiki was collaboration (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dnL00TdmLY), but maybe I'm not familiar with how the concept has mutated since inception.
