Hi folks,

Need your help with two words I need translated into Dutch. "Cover" and "Back Cover", as in book cover and book back cover.

Good grief! Would I ever trust an automated online translation service?
Some English<->Portuguese translations that result from these things are officially used by psychiatrists to help confirm their lobotomy interventions.

well, it's a start...they look correct haha. Check the library and/or bookstore.

try randomly messaging people from the netherlands on some random social networking site haha.

I have a friend living in Singapore that's Dutch but I haven't seen him online in a few days. I'll let ya know if I do.

You could look for Dutch translations of the GNU FDL; they use the terms "front-cover" and "back-cover". Although, come to think of it, maybe that's what you're trying to make. :)

I am Dutch, myself.

We generally use the word cover, as well. Although that indicates both the front as the back. I don't think we have actual terms for front cover and back cover, I think I'd use "voorkant" (frontside) and "achterkant" (backside).
Although "front cover" and "back cover" will be understood by Dutch people and not even look strange in a Dutch sentence.

The automated translations are, once again, horrible. While "omslag" is another word for "cover" (although according to the dictionary it's made of paper, so I'm not sure if it's ok for hardcovers), "cover terug" means "cover back", where back is not a backside but rather back as in going back to someplace.

Mario, have you been here (http://blog.makezine.com/upload/2008/12/lello_bookshop_staircase/stair%20porn.jpg):

I love Portugal, I was there this summer. I went to Lisboa then took a bus to Oporto.
