    Al Gore

How dumb is this guy? How screwed would we (America) be if we had elected him? Think about it, and here's some of his quotes:
I strongly believe in the separation of church and state. But freedom of religion does not mean freedom from religion, there is a better way.
We can build a collective civic space large enough for all our separate identities, that we can be E Pluribus Unum -- Out of One, Many.
*Gore points to busts of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Lafayette, and John Paul Jones, and asks, "Who are these people?"*
    More here http://www.positiveatheism.org/hist/...r_d.htm#GOREAL

    Any comments?

Sweet, sweet irony... I noticed it on this, and on pretty much every thread about americanized words... "pretty dmb".... I just find it hilarious that so many threads on this board have some variation of "Wow, what an idiot! You can't even spel right!"

Anyways, on the topic of the thread - for every "Gore's a dumbass" quote, there's at least 2 "Bush is a shaved chimp"'' quotes...

I think he's alright, even though I think that Bush is ok now, so to me they're both ok, although I don't agree with him being in favor of abortion. I might be wrong on this.
There are some real morons in this world please do not become one of them, do not become a victim of moronitis. PROGRAMMING IS THE FUTURE...THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!!!!!!

Govtcheez, it's called a typo. Sorry if I don't feel like proofreading something like this. As for abortion, if you don't believe in it, don't have one.

I support very few of his political views...I believe that abortions should be illegal and considered murder, and I also believe that Alaska needs to be drilled for oil, or else we will be relying on the middle east for oil, which isn't the most stable area of the world.
What will people say if they hear that I'm a Jesus freak?
What will people do if they find that it's true?
I don't really care if they label me a Jesus freak, there is no disguising the truth!

The very same site has quotes from Bush, you know:

    http://www.positiveatheism.org/hist/quotes/bush.htm

I mean, come on. And generally, Democrats are more secular than Republicans, so I'm not sure why you're focusing on Gore.

*shrug* Gore's religiously conservative, get used to it.

I'm fairly certain the only reason anyone voted for Gore was because they didn't want Bush to be president...

And a surprisingly large number of people apparantly didn't want either of them to be president either, eh?

Also, about abortion, I wouldn't really call Al Gore in favor of abortion... I'm pretty sure NOW refused to support him because of this. And also, Bush didn't have especially strong public anti-abortion views untill after he was elected.

There is a BIG difference between being in favor of abortion and in favor of the right to choose abortion

I also wanted to add that my personal opinion is that we'd be in a world of hurt had Gore been elected. People pick on poor Dubya, but God help us if Gore would be in charge right now.

Nothing is wrong with abortion. It's fine with me, but religious/wussy people have a big problem with it. *hides under desk*
