    hello..

I have post entire codes seeking for help on a thread, and I don't want anyone just copy and paste them, I mean the posts which gives directions must remain as it is...I request the moderators of the forums to just delete those posts which include entire program..Don't misunderstand me..This is the thread..

If you don't want your code to be public, don't post it.

    >I request the moderators of the forums to just
    >delete those posts which include entire program
It doesn't work that way. Moderators aren't going to edit threads all willy-nilly just because you ask them to. You need to tell us exactly why you don't want anyone to see your code, and we'll decide if it's a good enough reason to damage the integrity of the thread.
My best code is written with the delete key.

Really? Hard not to. You post your code so that others can help fix your errors. And when you are satisfied you want to wipe out any traces of the code leaving the thread without a context?

Reminds me of some girlfriends I had.

Besides your code isn't rocket science. Sorry, but you won't get any awards with it. It's... how should I put it... uninteresting.

I seem to remember that it is in the terms of agreement for this site that if you wish to have your posts removed you can.

Whether it is in good taste or not is debatable, but if this is really an issue for you and you disagree with the moderators' decision then you might consider sending a PM to kermi3.

More like: you agree that if the administration wishes to have your posts removed, it can do so.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

edesign, think it through, if you are truly capable of posting your whole program in a thread, while asking for help about errors in the code... it's not worth anything of real value, and even if it does get copied, the chances of you ever encountering it being used is point googleplex percent.

edesign is likely worried that the professor will uncover the thread in a Google search for plagiarists/cheaters and be less than charitable about it.

I can't believe people can react like this...

Look at my demand carefully...I stated the pieces which give directions should remain as it is...

I have reasons for that..Yesterday I saw a thread asking to write a code to read from a text file and then encrypt it...I did very similar thing and I agree that i learned everything on this forum..but I never wanted anyone here to write the code for me..I mean you cannot learn that way..

I also gave the person a few directions on how to start with..I want him/her to go step by step and learn as i did..And for proof I have...

It was just a request, whatsoever you think appropriate you do...I have no objections...

Yes, but that is not at stake. I don't think anyone claimed that as a reason for their objection to you remove the code.

Let me put it in another way, in case you think - which seems to be the case - your request is a valid one.

    * The forums are a place of learning and discussion. Anything that is placed here becomes public domain. That goes for code as for anything else that you write, from answering doubts to discussing the recent changes in Kosovo. This is true for this forum as for any other public forum on the web, mind you. This is a basic principle behind these forums.

    * The search function of the forums is a powerful medium. Threads that are edited in such a way that they lose context, reduce the efficiency of the search when someone, for instance, wants to search for "images process" and stumbles upon your thread. You learned something from that thread, but will stop anyone else from doing the same.

    * Despite the above, you always have the right to email the administrators and request for the deletion of your code, even if the Terms of Service (which you should have read when you signed up for the forum) say otherwise. Things can always be talked through. But you must expect administrators not to be sensitive to your requests and a general feeling of disagreement on behalf of the community which strove to help you.

That's not how I remember it (although that may be true separately). I seem to recall at least one individual had all of his or her posts removed. I also think Quzah requested this, but was either talked out of it or turned down. It doesn't appear to be in the current terms provided when you sign up, but that's not necessarily where it came from anyway.

Honestly, though, a simple PM to kermi3 should clear it up.

That would be vVv, and I curse him constantly for it.

quzah managed to edit a lot of his posts into nothing before somebody stopped him, IIRC.
