You could find out the password from your source.
Of course, if your source is an illegal download, then you have no business finding out the password, nor discussing it here.

no its not something illegal. I have got some password protected rar file in which there were 120 jpeg picture fo our trip to goa was... My freind sent me via repidshare and told me the password. this thing happen 2 months back and now after formatting the hardisk i want those picture back then its aksing for password and unfortunatly , my freind also forgot the password.
If he's still got the images, then he can repackage them up in another rar file with a new password and put that up on Rapidshare for you to download.

Rar password protection is much stronger than zip pasword protection. You will have to actually know the password to unrar the files as it encrypts them with the password, whereas zip just check that the password matches a hash code (or somethign liek that). The point is Zip password protection is trivial to crack, while RAR is not.
I doubt that Zip compression is "trivial to crack". Why would programs like this exist if it were: http://lastbit.com/zippsw/default.asp It mentions dictionary search, which suggests that brute force is sometimes too slow. It's probably simpler than RAR, though.
To answer the original question: you'll need a RAR password recovery tool. Using brute force and/or dictionaries it might be able to recover the password if it's not too long.
