Not so apparent if it's sitting on a solid blue surface.

I would vote Govt's avatar as my favorite.

I'm trying to think. I don't think we have a non-goddess female on the board?

So that's the reason we do not have enough female programmers here... They have to be a Goddess...

If any animated avatar could be called "disturbing", it would surely be mine. I haven't had any comments about it, though. Well, besides one comment that "Aha! Your avatar can read the board users' minds!", or something to that affect, and a few about hypnosis. They were all (as far as I could tell) positive comments, however, or (in the case of the first quote), amazement and admiration at my skills in determining the cause of problems . . . certainly not comments about my modesty.

In case anyone's wondering: when I uploaded my avatar, I had approximately 800 posts. I'm not sure how long animated avatars have been disabled for, but I think it's been quite some time. (This isn't the first thread about the topic.)

[edit] Note: my avatar isn't meant to be disturbing or hypnotising or anything. I was just playing around with the Gimp's spiral gradient flood-fill, and really liked the pattern. I generated a few images by hand, stuck them together, and there you have it.

Notice that my avatar is a litle jerky? Well, that's because I calculated the rotation values by hand, and I only had pixel precision. Later on, I created a program to rotate the image smoothly, but I never got around to uploading it, and by the time I did, it was too late -- animated avatars were disabled. [/edit]

Cause some find them annoying and too large to load in significant amounts.

Yup. Can you imagine a thread full of animated avatars?

No, not egoism. Not a problem to me as in, I don't mind.
Not saying they should be allowed.

Oh. So you meant "fair enough to me", instead of "not a problem to me".
