wow... you guys are a lil harsh don't ya think?
Nothing is wrong with abortion. It's fine with me, but religious/wussy people have a big problem with it
Pigeon hole me as a "religious person"... but did you ever really stop to think what is happening when an abortion is done? It's murder, plain and simple... that's a living, moving, breathing human being in there that you are snuffing out...

However, I think people have their right to choice... be it a bad choice or not..

I don't understand ya'll comments about GWB... tell me what he's done so wrong so far... I'm curious to find out.

Well... nothing, really. I'm not a big fan of plans to drill on preserves or export Great Lakes water (that, we've convered before). I didn't vote for him, and neither did most people, but he got elected through a system that's in serious need of reform. The electoral college system's a waste, and a totally ludicrous way to elect anyone. Flame me if you will, that's just my opinion.

However, I think the way he's handled everything in Afghanistan's just peachy, and I really support him there.

I think the reason he's getting picked on is that he's the President, and that's what people do to Presidents. All the accusations flung at Clinton about being in the pockets of big money kinda seem ironic with this whole Enron thing, huh?

Oh - just realized smth... Tim - if you're just a HS sophomore, you couldn't vote in the last election, and the majority of laws don't really apply to you... Honestly, sorry, but who really cares what you think about government? Sorry - it's the truth.

    Itīs to bad:
The name of Al Goreīs website (www.altheweb.com) looks like the one of nearly the best searching engine www.alltheweb.com. If you type the address of the searching engine incorrect without the second 'l', you are at Al Goreīs website. That didnīt happen to be so, it must be aimed.

Hi, haven't read the thread yet, as I am in a hurry, but to the topic "Is Al Gore an idiot?":

He is a politician isn't he? Of course, I don't know him, so I'll just go with sort of dumb.

the president represents the people. as for goldfish, ignorance is bliss.
i would've voted for gore(was 15 during the election, so i couldnt vote). true, he and bush looked pretty much the same, but one was competent while the other one's interesting. i think gore screwed his chances up. but he'll have another chance to reinvent himself in 2004.
honestly, mccain would've been better. he was a vietnam veteran, meaning he knows about dead-end wars and how to stay out of 'em. and he knows about campaign finance reform(another recent issue). too bad bush won out.
the whole point of our democracy isn't to follow the people's mandates, it's to make the best decisions. politics is slow and awkward to make people think before doing something really stupid. bush is checked by congress, and eventually the supreme court will repeal any excessive measures taken during this war(look at the repealed new deal measures for an example.)

That's not really a democracy buddy , but I see what you are saying. That's why democracy sucks; most people are stupid (democrats, hehe).

Just because I can't yet vote doesn't mean that I can't voice my opinions, and it also does not make me an idiot (other factors contribute to my being an idiot).

I know that, Tim - you're just as welcome to your opinions as anyone. It's the truth, though - unless you can vote - they don't matter...

    > That's why democracy sucks; most people are stupid )democrats, hehe).

    That's why we're a republic.... (hehe.)

    > honestly, mccain would've been better.

If he had ended up on the ballot instead of Bush, I probably would've voted Republican (I actually did vote for him in the primaries.... Michigan law says you don't have to be a registered member of the party to vote in the primaries.... I'm one of the reasons Bush didn't get us in the primaries )
