Here are some nice font alternatives for those who have to look at code for 8 or more hours a day.
I especially like the Proggy Clean with bold punctuation. Really helps you see missing brackets, parentheses, etc.

Since this is the second time Proggy Fonts has come up on a forum that I frequent, I decided to give it a try. For some reason Proggy Clean does not look all that great on Notepad++ (lack of vertical space between lines), but it does look good on Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Netbeans 6.0.
I cannot really decide between Proggy Clean, Proggy Clean (Slashed Zero), and Proggy Clean (Slashed Zero, Bold Punctuation). The zero thing is like... they both look pretty good. The bold punctuation gives an effect similiar to Notepad++ (which has bold syntax highlighting for punctuation by default), but it seems a little too strong, unlike Notepad++'s bold.

Proggy clean bold punctuation looks good but you need to use 12 pt to get any benefit. It's 12 pt looks more like other fonts at 10 pt.
It does have some glyphs that touch such as M next to N and vice versa but overall it looks good.
Yeah, I set it to 12pt on MS Visual Studio 2005, and it looks good save that the bold punctuation is a little too bold for me.
