thank you, Im proud of it. All these people who are saying that the us sucks and is the most corrupt there is better take a better look at their own societies, cuz theirs suck crap!!!

I do seem to remember that a while before america came along, and before people left britain (screw great, its britain in my eyes) there were people being killed for not accepting catholisism (which I dont agree with. Im not catholic, just chrisitian (cant tell somethimes can ya?) They were cuttin open their stomackes (sp) and putting parasitic crap in there, THATS NUCKIN FUTS!!

For once in my life, Im actually glad for freedom of religeon!

Before america came along, countries were just f'in with each other, and the poor people we now protect in our hemisphere (Monroe Doctrin / Rosavelt Coralery, I believe)

Lets count all the mass murderous jerks (like hitler if you dont understand what Im saying), Uhhh, yeah, none I see from the US.

For all I care, we rock, they suck, nuff said.

As for the communists on this board, remember that while natural resources are finite, goods and services are affected greatly by the people who produce them. I like to look at it this way, capitalism rapes almost everyone (forcing many to work hard at things they really don't want to), but people in the country get the benefit of all those around them, who have worked hard, despite, perhaps, not wanting to.

To conclude, I know the America hating Europeans hate this, but three words.

    Ahhh... dearest kooma.

You hold the viewpoint of many Finns. Finland is a great country, but I have some points that many fail to recognize that I hope will allow you to see a picture bigger than you do...

Finland (and most countries) are made up of its own ethnicity. Ethnic, religious, and patriotic diversity is miniscule. It is a country that has less people than my old home city of Phoenix, AZ (Finland has ~5.? million people). Everyone is a Fin, and most are very proud of that fact. Indeed it is a great country and you and yours are justifiably proud. You have a socialistic society where pretty much everyone is cared for if they want it. Medical and school is free. Finland is the highest technologically advanced company per capita in the world.

And the fact remains... that you are all white Finns that are mostly Lutheran.

America is very culturally diverse. Many different religions, many different races, many different loyalties. We are not all US Americans... some are Mexican American, Cuban American, Irish American, Finnish American, Canadian American, Afro-american, etc. Many still have intense loyalties to their heritage countries, their family, their brethren. The idea of the melting pot.

This diversity causes a huge clash of opinion and desire. It causes people that are more willing to utilize corruption and crime to better the lifestyles of those they are loyal to...

Then there are poverty levels. Uneducated people's that cannot afford to go to school and are under the thumb of white opressive government. The rich get richer, the poor stay poor. Many poor people decide the climb is too hard and turn to crime and corruption.

Geographically, the US is situated near some of the biggest producers of illegal drugs and narcotics in the world. Drugs are rampant because they can easily be brought in through loyal people that are American, but are also from those countries and feel an obligation to support families there that manufacture these drugs. They also do it to get out of poverty.

I could go on and on about how the makeup of the US is considerably different than your country, which is at the top of the world away from major drug countries, has less people than a city that I lived in, has really no diversity, and a government that keeps poverty to a minimum because the scale is small, most are educated or have skills, and everyone works hard to support eachother due to direct loyalty. I won't go on, because this is enough typing.

I am married to a Fin. I got married in Finland. I plan to settle in Finland one day as soon as my language skills get better. The political climate is good, the crime is low, the schools are good... I have a child to raise.

I am an American that has been all over America. I have seen America's good and America's bad. America is a great place all in all. It is the most powerful single country in the world, and the most technologically advanced overall. There is plenty of adventure, and beautiful scenery. Crime has barely touched me in 27 years of life. Our colleges and universities are the best in the world. A lot of great things can be said about america.

But like stealth said... every country has its problems.

edit... all American references are to be considered United States... American. Obviously the Americas are bigger than the US. Don't be dumb and point that out.

As long as you tell the whole world you are the best and only perfect country, you will have people telling you that this is not true.

I'm not saying ours is better. But it's not worse either.
