European cookies are bad for you

New eurpean legislation says that if a website uses cookies it must carry a notice and an explanation of what are they and what they will be used for, you must also provide a choice for the user not to be cookied.

    this is stupid!

I think that's a wonderful idea. I have no problem with it. It's simply amazing all the stuff that websites try and put on your computer without your knowledge. Puts a little bit of effort on their part.
Maybe they'll do something about popup windows next.

I have Mozilla configured so that each time some cookie tries to get in, I get a question - and I can choose whether to accept it or not.

I really don't see the reason for why the sites themselves needs to ask such questions.
