While were on the topic of what to do with old computers, what do you guys think of the prices for these specs? Are any of these worth their price? Which should I buy and/or will be actually useful for something (i.e. fileserver, unixbox, etc)?Quote:
AMD Athlon 1362MHZ
Ram: 256M
HD: 40GB
Price: $75
PIII 800MHZ (A-Open)
Ram: 256M
HD: 36GB
Price: $75
PIII 800MHZ
Ram: 256M
HD: 8GB
Price: $50
Xeon 366MHZ (IBM)
Ram: 256M
HD: 6GB
Price: $50
All systems include:
1 CRT monitor
1 Keyboard
1 Mouse
The last two seem rather overpriced, Well, I just sold my old crappy PIII 668MHz, 20GB hdd, 128M to my bother for $100AU - but hey that's my brother, inflated prices.
I'd go with the first one, see if you can't knock off $25 and just buy the box (no kb, no mouse, no CRT).
