    Can we ban people from only posting polls so they can still make other types of posts?

    I take it to mean that the admins/mods have discussed the subject of what they may see as pointless polls, and at least one person was advocating that the subject of a poll should be a "big deal", as you say, "in order to post a poll about", but I could be wrong in my interpretation.
