    alternative o/s programming

    does anyone here program for alternative operating systems (ie not dos, windows or linux) ?

    eg Beos
    os2
    os9
    bsd
    your home made os
    Monday - what a way to spend a seventh of your life

    At this moment I'm programming for OS9000 and I'm planning to do some programming in VxWorks. Both are RTOS's and really nice.

    I write code on HP/UX at work. We also have code running on VOS, but I've not had to do any development on VOS.

    since when is solaris an alternative os? just asking...i just never think of UNIX type OS as alternative...

    word...that makes perfect sense i was just wondering becuase iain didn't put it on his list, yet he said he programs for Solaris and considers it an alternative.

    Hmmm. I'm missing VxWorks in that list. Thought that is one of the most used OS's in embedded. If eCos and QNX are listed, then VxWorks should surely be there.

    ACOS, ShellOS, and SOS aren't in there!! (My, hillbillie's, and [stealth]'s OS's respectively)

    why dont you all put them together and make one big
    super-OS, it may be able to rival windows!
