    Angry Restaurant Drive thrus

    /* edited for offensive language*/

    What really ........es me off is restaurant drive thrus. I never use them, not because they're slow, but because I expect to be getting better service inside, given I actually hauled my butt the extra 13 feet to the door of some cheap burger pit. When I do get an order inside, usually something small, it takes an hour to prepare because some clown in the drive through has an order the size of Alaska. I swear, if I ever ran a burger pit, then I'd put a limit on the drive through, much like the express lane in a supermarket.

    people are lazy... why should we have to get off our butts to get our food when we can sit in the drive thru in our cars, even though it takes longer?

    Half the time people think they are saving time by going through the drive thru, yet you see a line wrapped around the building and no one is inside ordering?!

    I share your frustrations...

    In all fairness, getting out of their land yachts would kill half the people in the drive thru before they ever reached the door.

    I love that - those of us that are willing to move our lazy butts get much faster service, unless the workers happen to forget the restaurant's more than a drive thru with a kitchen attached, and totally neglect the other part of the place.

    I love it when people use the drive through. They spend there monney, and they don't make mess that I have to clean up.

    Yeah, I served my time in food service... I was managing the place in under 3 months... GD monkeys... it was only for the money... and I'd never go back. The work a guy has to do for minimum wage when you can be a CE intern and make more than double that for half the physical labor... crazy. But they say, the more money you make, the less you actually do...

    I like the advice Bill Gates (and no, I'm not getting into the skin deep evil empire debate either) gave some high school students in a speech: "Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity." They should make a law saying that everybody has to flip burgers for at least a week.

    tasty goody!!! [exp to boot...]

    i must say that i'm fortunate... though the place has changed a bit since i started, so far as the politics between coworkers, i can still say that at least i'm on good terms with everyone. everyone used to just get along fine, but there are just a couple of problems... but that's alright if you ever work in at least a good place, you'd appreciate that... i really can't support any of your thoughts that working in fast food is something to joke about... and working there for a week, or even three months does not give you too much right at such a remark...

    [more upset rant]

    and i'm sick and tired of you even mentioning anything about fast food being below anyones dignity... even that you should acknowledge that is a disrespect...

    [/end rant]

    there is absolutely no shame in that... and i realize i could probably get paid more [or at least enjoy my work all that more] with some tech job... but regardless, any negative comments, or even untactful jokes on the matter are remarkably unfounded... [as you might know, my profile dictates that i've been working in fast food for quite a while...]

    ahem... thimble stands, std disclaimers... blah @ yoo!
