It's available from quite a few sites...

    http://www.javaic.com/eckel.html

    This is one of them.

If you're looking for any other E-books you can probably find them in one of the links off of this page. A good resource.

The links from that site are dead - I have seen it and the Java version at several others, tho.

Anyone know if Petzold is online? I know he included an HTML version of his book, and wondered if anyone had uploaded it somewhere.

I've already downloaded it. Just would like to know what do you think of it. It's huge and I'd like to know if it's worth giving a time to study.

Actually it was not me who downloaded it, it was my friend. The book itself says http://www.bruceeckel.com, try it.

Petzold is online?? WHERE?!?!? You know, the printed version is REALLY expensive here.

    Really? Hmm.... peculiar...

This site works. I know because I just downloaded the book myself from there and the JAVA one.

The above site is active for online viewing at least.

I found the book to be interesting in it's approach, which is how would you improve on the C language. As such it assumes you know a reasonable amount of pure C, identifies weak points in C, and proceeds to develop the various extensions to C we call C++. This can give useful insights into why things are done the way they are done, but it also means that it probably isn't a book for beginners (IMO).

i suppose you coud always save each page - i nkow it would take ages but it would be better than shelling out £50+
    for the book.
