Natrual Language Programming - Beta Release

    Hi,

For the last 3 years I've been developing a toolkit for use with Natural Language (AI) programming. In the process of doing so, I have spent thousands hours, written over a 150,000 lines of source code and compiled lexical files containing over a 1/3 million word entries. I'm a drudge, I know. But now at last I'm ready to publish some of my work in the form of a beta release of an application which uses my toolkit, and I would really appreciate some feedback at this time.

The application I'm refering to is called 'Tara Lexi Desktop', a lexical reference & editor utility. A beta download is available on my website at www.alpha-india5.com. A trial version of a lexical data file is included in the setup program, but check out also the Lexicon Download Page on the website. I would especially recommend trying out a port of the Foldoc On-Line Computing Dictionary.

I've tested the application on Win 95, 98, ME, but only a sanity check on 2000. I would be especially interested to hear of any problems with XP.

Also on my website are details of the programming API itself--check out the Introduction PDF file. The API interface is currently for use with C++ (I've tested it with both VC++ 6 & BCB5), but I also intend to release it for Delphi in the future. In addition, I've taken a lot of care to avoid using OS specific packaging technology (the API is object oriented, but uses only standard C++) as it's my long term aim to produce a Linux port. I'll be uploading a beta release of the API shortly, but for next week or two, I'm running through some final testing. However, thoughts and suggestions are most definitely welcome.

    Cheers

    Andy Thomas

I believe the only problem is the inclusion of a full stop after the first web address in the first post. My apologisies. Please try:
