Deckard's explanation is spot on for me, too. I frequently have to give my wife that sort of explanation when we're driving along or reading or watching a bit of TV and I burst out laughing when there is absolutely nothing funny going on. Or when it leads me to a past conversation with someone and I start gesturing with my hands as if I'm really talking to them.

I only see pictures in my "mind's eye" when it's appropriate, like trying to match a name to a face. Otherwise I have a pretty constant inner monologue.
There is a difference between tedious and difficult.

do you ever get horny? lol

and for the one saying it's a linked list gone wrong. I sure hope you have at least some form of constant time lookup in your brain

okay, this is interesting, my wife also is very visually oriented in her thinking.
she creates an image to represent the subject of a conversation.

I use imagery when I'm working on developing a new model, I use words when working on developing a sentence.

but if I'm not paying attention, like when I'm really tired, my mind plays tricks.

I'll start rambling, random sentences from each thought process as it cycles through my mind. the last time I did that my wife had to run to the bathroom, she was laughing so hard she almost ........ed herself.
[ 12 different subjects in 12 sentences as one paragraph, seems the juxtaposition of subjects was funny ]

about the only time I don't have multiple thought tracks is when I have a concussion, then the extra tracks are all used for the same subject.
[ which makes for some really interesting logic leaps ]

Do keep in mind folks that words are also presented in our brain in the form of images, either images representing the word, or the actual word written in our brain.

    I get horny.
I'm not immature, I'm refined in the opposite direction.

can i just say that what Deckard was describing is a trait of people suffering from schizophrenia! when they cant seem to keep on the same topic, and tend to change topic without knowing. but thats verbally, so im not sure if it still applies mentally, although they are very much linked tbh.

im deffinately a visual person, i think in images and 3D objects sort of thing. i know this because i did a dyslexia screena test which tests all different types of cognitive functions, and i scored well above average on "missing pieces" (sort of a complex jigsaw where you have to apply the correct image) and below average on "word sounds", i think thats possibly why im not into music lol.
