Thread: Red Dwarf Video Game

As you can tell I am huge RD fan ( my signiture ) and my screen name says it all.
I am very supprised that the creators of red dwarf, doug naylor productions, have not thought of making such an excellent cult si-fi comedy into a game.

I know it is not everybodys thing, but I for one have been waiting ever since the show ended in the early 90's for them to follow up with a game. I emailed the company a long time ago but they never got back to me. It cuold be really good too with all the original cast voicing little phrases.

I was thinking of making my own one but that would breach copyright so I'll leave it up to the game companys I think. Does anyone know why the game was never created?

There have been very few movie/tv->game adaptations that weren't completely terrible. Maybe you should count your blessings

A Red Dwarf game? Have you conceived how it would work? The show based on humour, not action etc. It's not Star Wars! Leave RD as the fantastic series it was, dont worry about a game, keep emailing about getting them back on screen! Mind, Craig's corrie appearances combined with drugs abuse allegations may not hold much water nowadays with the BBC. Lots of people would pay money to see new episodes mind you. Who knows. Well, the writers do, they kinda dont get on now, but I feel both would need to be back together to recreate the old magic, as sole writing in the last few series let the whole idea down-ie it was crap.

Are you refering to series 7 and 8?

Series 1-6 were pure magic. Fantastic script and A class acting, especially from Chris Barrie
