    Scott Adams Has Stumped Me

I've thought about it for a bit, but I still can't get the punchline of today's Dilbert strip.

    Anybody knows?

The punchline is that there aren't any smart people debating.

yeah, he stated that he may not be smart enough to debate, then he starts by looking for smart people, then--Oh my god I've just gone cross-eyed *faints*

Heh, forgive my lack of mental aptitude, but I still don't see how the words Ratbert is saying in the last panel, "Okay, I'm in", fit into the strip. IMHO, the comic ended on the 2nd strip.

You mean those hacker movies where they break into some computer and say "Okay, I'm In"?
Yeah, but that would mean, the punchline was really in the 2nd panel, not the 3rd right?

"Ok, I'm in [the debate]"... it took ratbert only one panel transition to read everything smart people have said on the internet... ?

Between the second and third panels, he looks around and realizes there are not smart people on the internet, so he can debate.

But there aren't smart people on the internet, so the clock should only move a couple seconds.

Well, clearly ratbert's clock is broked... and, really, doesn't that just add to the humor of it all? Besides, everyone who's anyone who's a Dilbert fan knows ratbert uses 56k.

The hands aren't centered in the middle frame, and the clock's in different positions in the last two frames. Plus, what is he doing looking for smart internet debates (Political discussions anyone, hehe) in work!?!? That'll kill staff moral!

They had to make the third strip, because they always have 3 strips.
The third one is just to fill some space.
