I think your layouts could use a little more life.
No offence, but it's boring. (Not to say that my site isn't.)
Yep, the top picture is too big as is the site name. I generally don't like to have to scroll down to see the start of the real text and if I was using a smaller resolution, I'd probably have to.

The design is based off a professional design. I'll try shifting everything up a bit, and making the title font smaller. It's also supposed to be clean looking.

I don't like it, I'd prefer something normal, something that has simpler menus, better colors and wider.

I'm uncomfortable with the navigation being on the side of the image (whatever the image is for) and nothing below, beside the text. It seems unbalanced.

I like to venture out from the "ordinary" website. I like different designs, styles, and the like. A lot of site designs bore me (including cprogramming ). Maxorator is a perfect example, he says "I'd prefer something normal" , well....I DON'T! The programming crowd is a bunch of boring people to be honest.

If the buttons move with the page it is alright. Also shrink the picture that thing is way to large. I like Sly would be annoyed by having to scroll down past the image to the goods. My recommendation would be to use the size for that larger image, and put the banner in the top halfish and what ever pic/image/cool stuff under that. Keep in mind large images are the suck for slow connections.
the design is very nice, but depending on your content it may not be. It depends.
Is that with flash or css or something (sorry, I don't know much about web design)? Websites done entirely in flash can be annoying
No it's not flash. I think where it says "picture here" I'm going to put a type of looping flash animation. Or something that will give more info so it's not just wasted space. I can't make it any smaller, because the buttons need to line up perfectly on the side. I'll just have a preloader to load the movie, and it should be all gooooood!

If the buttons moved on the side like I said, it wouldn't have to line up. Some simplish DHTML would make that easy.
i cant do any better...
How about have the menu moved down and attached to the "home" part iinstead?
and again the contrast for the buttons and header images is so low it's almost impossible to see.
if you float a div at a specific position you can have the content scrolling with the buttons staying exactly where they are.
Stu Nicholls CSS PLaY has a number of interesting CSS tricks with menus, and with layouts.
most freely usable, some he wants to control the use and requres asking for permission before using.
this one here would only need to have the background images / colours changed to fit your layout. and keep the menu where it is.
