    Internet ... ... ...

    Right now, I'm using videotron basic internet but i dl a lot and it has a limit of 1GB ul and dl. My parents have to pay extra for every extra MB of dl or ul and it's a bit too much for them
    If can refer me to a better internet service that doesn't have any dl or ul limits, is same speed as or faster than 600kbps and below $70/month..... I'm too lazy to formulate a sentence that makes sense...

    it really depends on where you live...
    if a contradiction was contradicted would that contradition contradict the origional crontradiction?

    My ADSL ISP is Uniserve, and the current package I've got right now is Fatwire 1.5, which includes a 30 GB monthly transfer limit, 2 dynamic IP addresses, 1.5 Megabits/second bandwidth, and it's quite affordable ($35/Month).

    high speed internet usually depends on where you live...lots of times it is provided through local cable companies or local phone companies.

    and...on another note...if you are paying $70 a month for internet...you are being ripped off

    Yup, $70 is too much. Strange that in Estonia, there are no such things as transfer and bandwidth limits. Also my internet service provider has many reserved IP addresses and I get a random one of them every time (a total of ~325000 IPs for about ~175000 clients).

    Telus high speed [ DSL ] is about 40 a month, 10 GB Data Transfer. 15 GB for overages
    Shaw High Speed Extreme, 49 a month, 60 GB Data Transfer. overages cut off connection until next month.
    Shaw high Speed light, 24.95 month, 10 GB Data Transfer. overage cuts off connection until month rollover.

    Telus rates are comparable to all the other Telco rates in Canada.

    Shaw's rates are comparable to the other cable company rates.

    The companies like Uniserve use local telco infrastructure so they actually get hit by the local telco policiesand have to hit you with them.

    Sprint, not very widely available for the high speed, uses local telco infrastructure.


    The CRTC forced local telco's to allow competitors to use their systems, some of the access issues in Canada are the policies adopted in response to that ruling by the CRTC.

    I don't see why people still buy Telus's highspeed ADSL when Uniserve's package is cheaper, same bandwidth, and way more data transfer per month.

    The biggest disadvantage of ADSL is exactly what the acronym is: Asynchronous DSL, which means that although you get great download speeds, the uploading is quite a bit slower, and not suited for a home webserving (which is what I was trying to do).

    3MB = 5 times 600kb+
    1 Mb = 1024 kb
    3 mb = 3072 kb

    3072/600 is 5.12 times as much

    mega bytes is the usual for what the isp's quote.

    most people don't understand the megabit of the nic speed rating.
    just like most people think bandwidth and data transfer capacity are the same
