    Talking Website design!

Check out my possible website design. Tell me if you like the colors/design of it. Although it doesn't really matter what you think Some crits would be nice. I'm not sure about the name yet, I just needed something to put there. This will be my first website, I might need some help with this server stuff, I don't get it http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6410/websiteps0.png

I'm afraid I don't like it at all. The bright, but not white, "frame" distracts from the center. Perhaps this will be different once there is content there, but somehow I don't think so.
I'm also not looking forward to reading yellow text on black background. Or what color would you have the content in?

The layout is nice, though it seems very small. Your image is 800x600, so the core area seems to be about 500x450, and the actual content area 300x350. That's 105,000 out of the 1,310,720 pixels my screen provides actually being used. About 8% of the screen actually contain that which really interests me!

The design is okay, but the yellow hurts my eyes. I prefer to work with pastels in my color schemes because they're more eyestrain friendly.

Content text color will be white or a very light gray. I made it small because I won't be having like tons of content, and, it's different from the boring conventional webpage where it's a 'wall-o-text'. I guess the yellow is a bit strong, but I like the contrast. What color would be better, but still stay colorful with a nice contrast?

I like the color because Prelude doesn't.

Contrast is good, painful contrast is not.

How about BFCFFF? It's soothing but still a nice splash of color without hurting your contrast.

You mean that periwinkle color? Thanks, but no thanks! A dark grey color on a light purple background equals 'no'.I was thinking a light orange or something or maybe a olive green.

I got more of a nice blue color when I tested it.

Hm...I'll test it! I might go with a blue instead of the yellow/orange scheme. I hate colors!

What font you used for that text "triarch?" Can I download it somewhere? Thanks, and I actually I like the color scheme.

More subtle advice which means you should make the content area larger please and avoid miniature font sizes. Your web site is not a copyright notice.

I'm not sure about the font, i'll get back to you today. I'm pretty sure it's a standard font for Windows. Atleast someone likes the colors! You see, I don't want a huge website that takes the whole screen up, just something small to show some work. I don't even think I can think of alot of stuff to write in the content area. It's small purely because there won't be tons of text, not because I'm an idiot

The problem with small is that it will be too small for comfortable reading for some.

One option, of course, is to make the size adapt to the screen size of the user. There are several examples of this out there.

Never saw the reasoning behind exact width content on pages, make everything a percentage and you please the masses!

Well, it's easier to make complicated layouts involving images if you have pixel precision.
