    Lightbulb How old are you?

I've just been wondering how old everyone is...it is a personal question, so you don't have to answer. However, i was just wondering what age groups where here...oh, and if you can...also say when you started programming or something like that ^_^

I'm 13...and i haven't done any programming so far, although im trying to learn. But, i'm a little discouraged, becuase i feel like im too "old" to be really good at it...since HW is a big issue...lol

but forget about e...what about you guys?

Most of the people willing to give that information do so in their profiles. Just click on the name of the person you're interested in knowing about.

I'm 20, I've been programming in C++ since senior year of highschool. Some time after that, I started looking into C syntax and then Java, VB, Perl, PHP... Before C++, my only real experience was HTML, some Javascript, and a whole lot of mIRC scripting.

    asl1?!! ?

I'm 16, a senior in high school (Thank goodness I'm almost done with public schooling. Of course, I've still got four years at BYU to look forward to after this.) I've been programming in C++ since I was 13. Started scripting with HTML and CSS when I was around 10, and went from there.

But, you're not too old at all. Homework can't be that big of a deal. You're a freshman, I assume? Or eighth grade? You don't have to spend massive amounts of time programming. Just here a little, there a little, you know?

I'm a 16 year old female, with blonde hair. I like to make-out with any guy I can get my hands on, and make a workable win32 application in the process. The guys go crazy when I say I love assembly language! PM me any time if you want some one-on-one action, i'll be waiting! I'll even touch your joystick, for a price.

So, uh, what processor are you using, baby?

    (I am so freaking slick.)

(Don't tell, but that's the same line I used on Prelude.)

You think you're too old at 13? Eesh.

    I'm 20, turn 21 soon, I started programming in C++ when I was 14.

Age really doesn't matter. I understand the desire to want to be young and be an uber programmer, but that will get you burned out after a while...do it for the love of programming.
I'm not immature, I'm refined in the opposite direction.

    >i was just wondering what age groups where here
We're all across the board. There are people as young as you and there are people as old as Sayeh claims to be. I'm 27, and like most people willing to tell you their age, it's in my profile.

    >and if you can...also say when you started programming or something like that
I was 16 when I started programming because of a bet, and 17 when I started programming seriously because I enjoyed it.

    >But, i'm a little discouraged, becuase i feel like im too "old" to be really good at it...since HW is a big issue...lol
Too old?! Hell, I'd say you're too young. People who begin programming at such a young age tend to develop some strange ideas about what programming is. Then people like me have to suffer the rebound as your illusions are shattered when you see what it's like in the real world.

    >(Don't tell, but that's the same line I used on Prelude.)
Yet the response was completely different if I recall correctly.
My best code is written with the delete key.

I am 14. Been programming in C++ for about 2 years. Learning assembly language.Started learning HTML, MySQL, Javascript, CSS and PHP when I was about 10. I use Win32 API and hate simplifications and wrappers, like MFC, Qt etc (I've learned English only for 5 years...)

22, nothing spectacular as far as programming goes. Never had talent or a high attention span but am learning slowly but surely.

20, been programming since I'm like 14, I think, but I only seriously started around 17. I do both C and Java apps right now.

25, Aries, I like long walks on the beach--HAHA!!

I can honestly say that I've never really programmed on C before, I just post on here because I'm part of the fantasy football league, and one of Govtcheez's former roommates.

20, Started programming senior year of highschool(guess that'd be at around 17). I'm good with the design, just trying to catch up on my implementation skills.
