    Code Tag Button

    Hi,

There was the memorable thread in relation to the forcing of users to use code tags for any piece of code that went over a tiny snippet, and I think it was generally agreed (~10:1) that the code tags should be introduced, so I say this - most of the time I use the quick reply facility to reply to threads, and I find it annoying having to put in the code tags myself (or transform quote tags to code ones). Does anyone else feel that a "quick reply code tag" button would be beneficial?

I hardly ever use those buttons as is... unless I am on a new board and don't know the format they use.

I don't know. It's not that late GMT time yet, so I shouldn't think so

I type it by hand... in fact, I'd say 95% of the people that use quick reply a lot type it by hand and have no problem with it. However, I see no harm in it, so I voted "Yes"... even though the answer would really likely be "No".

Maybe I should have been somewhat snide and deceitful in my poll, and asked if they would have a problem with it ... that way I could potentially have gotten some more yes votes

It's all down to admin this kind of stuff.

If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

I answered the poll as it was asked... no, I would not use a code tag button... but if it's a good idea to have it there for the lazy people? that's another story
