Yeah, the German version is much better this time. (Didn't know you were a native German speaker, nvoigt.)
An error that the writers of the program shouldn't have made is the wrong association of "so much" in this part:
In the German translation, the "so much" got associated with "reach my goal" instead of "can help me", which shouldn't happen, IMO.they can help me so much to reach my goal.

Italic languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French) have two genders. Germanic based languages are harder. If I remember from my high school days, Germanic languages (which include German and English) are, of the language families, the ones that differ more between themselves. German with 3 genders, English with 1, and probably other languages with 2. Although they differ in many other aspects too.

If anyone cares, Irish (the language), nouns are genderised too, but most of them are masculine, and nobody knows the feminine ones, nobody being me, and the gender would/should change the whole sentence, so I was never all that great at writing Irish essays for exams in school. My teacher wanted me to learn off a set of about 20 common feminine ones, but ... well ... I said 'no thanks'.

I spoke rashly, and freely sir. In hindsight, it was ingenuous of me to speak like so, but the facts stay as they are. There are lots of them, so we might as well learn their language.

None whatsoever! I worked with lots of them this summer, they were much less annoying than the Scottish ones, who were very ... forthright .. for lack of a better word. I always thought you were american.
