    Imagine Cup 2006

    http://www.imaginecup.com/finals/home.htm

One of my favorite worldwide contests. The winners have been announced already. Untill the official site places them you can double check the projects described on the above site with this list: http://www.imaginecup.com/finals/home.htm.

Today these students rock. Tomorow they will hopefully shake the world.

It's a worldwide contest sponsored by Microsoft. This year the finals took place in India. Students from all over the world can apply alone or in a team. Every applicant can join one or more of the 6 categories:

    Software Design
    IT
    Short Film
    Algorithm
    Programming Battle
    Interface Designer
The preliminaries are used to come with a country wide winner (standalone or team) for each category. The finals are when the show really gets interesting. This time it happened in India. Several countries compete with their projects on each category where they show them live to all others and a jury panel.

I got today a rough DVD sent to me by a friend of the finals.

Oh... and every year there is a theme around which all projects should find inpiration. Tis year the theme was health. What is amazing is that some of these guys and gals are 16 year old and already develop state of the art technologies.
