Thread: How do you become a moderator?

Ok, I have a question regarding this site, first of all how do you become a moderator and what things can a moderator do?

We had moderator elections awhile ago. We will probably have them again when we need more moderators.

The only way to become a mod afaik (well, besides bribing the webmaster through paypal ) is during one of the mod elections...you have to get the majority of the votes.

I still wanna know who voted for me...surprisingly enough I didn't vote for myself...should have...stupid ken...hasafraggin DA and govt

Oh well, I don't care as much since I became a mod at flashdaddee...I'm just fine not having the added responsibilty here as well, though it would be nice.

All the members voted on it a few months ago.

We're pretty much no different than normal members, except we have a couple extra buttons... However, some people seem to think we have some sorta conspiracy goin'...

We are the webmasters evil henchmen by bringing law and order to this board. Depending on whom you believe, we either delete obscenity, foul language and unwanted spam, or we quell free speech and eat little babies for breakfast. Whatever we do, we do it in plain sight, so it's up to you to decide what is closer to the truth.

Moderators were elected when the board first needed them, back in the days of the old board. When the new board came up, two more were elected, as at least one of the old ones has left the board.

Only on weekends Check it out (www.flashdaddee.com) and you'll find out what really goes on over there. I'm a moderator there, but not here. But seeing as how both cprog.com and f'daddees use vBoard, being a moderator just allows you to have more control over threads (close, open, stick, delete, move). But it's also about ensuring that people keep things in order (e.g. - that there aren't any flame wars going on).
