    CProg Fantasy Football version pi

It's that time of year again. Training camps are in full swing, and fantasy football leagues are starting up. I've done this for the last 4 (?) years now, and I'm doing it again. We've used Yahoo in the past, but we're not tied to it.

Suggestions, people! I know there's always complaints/issues with the way scoring is set up, so if you've got anything you want looked at, let me know. I'm thinking about setting it up in a week, with signups for a little while after that, and then the draft. Until then you're free to use this thread to talk about what we want or don't want in the league.

    LEAGUE DETAILS

Using Yahoo, I kept default settings, so the scoring is as follows:

    Passing Touchdowns 6 Points
    Interceptions -2 Points
    Passing Yards 50 Yards = 1 Point
    Rushing Touchdowns 6 Points
    Rushing Yards 20 Yards = 1 Point
    Reception Touchdowns 6 Points
    Reception Yards 20 Yards = 1 Point
    Return Touchdowns 6 Points
Offensive Fumble Return TD 6 Points
    2-Point Conversions 2 Points
    Fumbles Lost -2 Points
Field Goals 0-19 Yards 3 Points
Field Goals 20-29 Yards 3 Points
Field Goals 30-39 Yards 3 Points
Field Goals 40-49 Yards 4 Points
Field Goals 50+ Yards 5 Points
Point After Attempt Made 1 Points
Points Allowed 0 points 10 Points
Points Allowed 1-6 points 7 Points
Points Allowed 7-13 points 4 Points
Points Allowed 14-20 points 1 Points
Points Allowed 21-27 points 0 Points
Points Allowed 28-34 points -1 Points
Points Allowed 35+ points -4 Points
    Sack 1 Points
    Interception 2 Points
    Fumble Recovery 2 Points
    Touchdown 6 Points
    Safety 2 Points
    Block Kick 2 Points

    League ID: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/477567
    League Name: Cprog Year Pi
    Password: goodbyerod
Draft: September 5th at 6:00pm EST. This is the day after Labor Day and 2 days before the start of the season.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THE DRAFT, MAKE SURE YOUR RANKINGS ARE SET BEFOREHAND. DON'T COMPLAIN THAT YOU DRAFTED 8 QB'S

Count me in! I'm good with Yahoo. I've never used anything else, so I guess I'm biased. I'm up for something else if someone has a positive experience with another provider.

I used CBS Sportsline for a NCAA Pick Em, and that was pretty decent. I've never used it for FF, though.

Does someone else want to run a survivor league? We don't need it right away, but it was fun before.

Call me what you'd usually call me (cheez) when I ask: How the hell does this work?
I've seen, um, two I think (here last year and as ES) and didn't say or do anything.

Can we please please please lay off the insults for this thread? (Ignore what I said above)

    Hmm. I may participate.
Come to think of it, being an outlander (one without Sky (cable)) I don't know anything about the NFL / team names / american football.

The players are all ranked on different websites. It'd be a lot more difficult for you to follow it, but it you're willing to put the effort into learning, it'd be cool to have you.

I was just talking to someone here at work, and he mentioned that CBS Sportsline was a really cool way to do it; their "stat-tracker" is free, while you have to pay for Yahoo's after the first week or whatever. I'd kind of like to try that this year, unless anyone has anything else to say. I remember last year there were plenty of people complaining about how they thought Yahoo was screwing up the scoring, too.

    Just something to chew on.

OK, I'm totally nerding out here. I'm in the process of making an Excel sheet with the leaders in every major category in every position. I'll post it when I'm done.

I'm sorry you are scared to lose again Govt. That's cool.

Note to self: Set filter to delete words football, fantasy, and govt.

edit: I guess the "Saints" won't win at anything this year...

    I'm in. Yahoo is fine.

but same story as at ES:

cool; I don't know how it will work out with my schedule this year but
hopefully I'll find a coule minutes each week to make substitutions and such. Live
draft is out of the question for me, so if you decide to do it, give me at least three
days from the creation of the league and the live draft to set my preferences for
    the picks.

Ok, I signed up. By the way, the link doesn't work unless you are part of the league already. You'll also need the league ID of 477567 to signup.

Any chance the receiving/rushing yards needed for a point can be dropped down to 10 or 15 like last year? Or is it too late?
