    Real Programmers.....in the old days

    While we're at humoristic stuff....

Real Programmers - in the old days:

Coded all day long, and when they got home from
work they took a long break - say 5 minutes.

Then they got on programming for just 2-5 hours....

They suddenly stop in the middle of programming, because
they haven't said hello to their wife/husband when they got home.
They quickly said hello, got out in the kitchen and maked a whole
can of coffee, because they where in the middle of some important
code they just couldn't finish, and have to get a little energy...

They coded some more, only for about 4 hours....

Then they rushed to bed fell asleep.......and an hour later they got
up because they have found the solution to some programming
    error, they couldn't fix....

They fix the error, then they looked at their watch to find out that
it was 5am in the morning. They thought to themselves - I'll just take a powernap...

At 5.10am they got up feeling refreshed, rushing into the kitchen
eated some nice breakfast and hearing the news in the radio...

5.15am they got back to the computer which was still all powered
up, got on with the programming stuff, until 7.50am, just 10 minutes
before they had to go to work.......

forgot to say goodbye.....and it started all over again..............................

But you tell this to young kids nowadays, and they won't believe ya......

    regards,

    a Real Programmer !

are these the same real programmers that used to copy and paste regions of code when they need to reuse functionaltiy in different parts of the program? No wonder they had to put in so many hours

    More on Pascal
    http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~evans/cs...on-pascal.html

It's 25 years old that paper (ooh, history), so no doubt many of the problems BWK addresses have been fixed in the commercial compilers at least.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Real programmers knew proper tenses of verbs, like "ing" instead of "ed".
    c++->visualc++->directx->opengl->c++;
(it should be realized my posts are all in a light hearted manner. And should not be taken offense to.)

    Real programmers aren't like...fake.

But what is...reality? I mean, the real reality man...
I'm not immature, I'm refined in the opposite direction.
