Is it just me or does Microsoft's search feature suck? I realized this yet again as I tried to find something simple on MSDN and got hundreds of hits that were completely irrelevant to the search key in every conceivable way.

My best code is written with the delete key.
There's no advanced search feature I could ever find, which always stroke me as odd. There's a discussion somewhere in there where their techies actually talk about ways to improve MSDN content search.. and a video too. *shrug*
I prefer google with MSDN prefixed to my search string...
EDIT: This is the best they have to offer at the moment http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/search/refinement.aspx

On the plus side, @nthony has pointed out that MSDN search works great for those of us with an immature sense of humour!
search "buy office"
For searching, this is what I normally do, for MSDN -
which searches the msdn site for the word string. Then you can do some more google 'hacks' to make a more specific search.site:http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ string
Link to above search ...
You are correct Prelude. MSDN search sucks. Heh and they want to become the next Google. I hope they don't plan on using the same search algos as MSDN.
The MSDN search does suck, I end up using google "site:msdn.microsoft.com" more than anything.Originally Posted by Prelude
Isn't MS planning to spend more $$ on its search this year? Maybe they actually realized it's teh suck

They've gotta have a money sensor or something on their search engine .... or something

That is so funny! I tried searching, and I didn't get any results (and no "helpful" suggestions, either). Microsoft must have "fixed" the bug.
It's a Microsoft sex position; that can mean only one thing: Bend over.Am I the only one interested in seeing this WM sex position?
There is a difference between tedious and difficult.
That about sounds like Microsoft...Originally Posted by Decrypt
