and the best job in the US is...

...yes, you guessed it - Software engineer.

There is an interesting spread in the MAY 2006 Money magazine. It shows the 50 best jobs in the US and describes the top ten. There were many issues taken into account when making the list but the main ones were (with scores for software engineer):

    Stress : B
    Flexibility : B
    creativity: A
    Ease of entry : C
    average pay: $80,500
    10 yearth growth: 46%
    annual job oppenings: 44,800

I actually was blown away - I would rate it in the bottom 50! but thats just me I guess. And I'm prety sure many of you will be pretty psyched to find out about it.

What I was very happy about is the second best job - college professor! woot! with 95,300 annual job opennings.

    here is the rest 3-10

    3. financial adviser
    4. human resources manager
    5. physicians assistant
    6. market research analyst
    7. computer/IT analyst
    8. real estate appraiser
    9. pharmacist
    10. psychologist

all these jobs avarage in pay over $50K and all have at least 10K annual openings.

    Discuss.

    My opinion for top 3:

    1)Human Resources Manager
    2)Computer IT analyst
    3)Financial adviser

they do - in the magazine.

With that said, these rankings are based on a formula, and we all know that it is individual opinion that really matters. Out of Madcow's top three I would only place HR manager in my top 20.

    My top five are:

    1. college prof
    2. writer
    3. national park ranger
    4. photographer
    5. website designer
