plus the fact that instead of axes and bastard swords, they use their bodies as the primary weapons.

Seconded. Americans really need to have a taste of Australian football. Or maybe not... they will get hurt. And they aren't used to that

So I guess martial artists are wimps because they protect themselves with various forms of armor to keep from...how do you say...permanently messing themselves up? The gear is there to protect the player. While players have died, been paralyzed, and have been seriously injured, we have the gear to reduce such injuries. If you think willingly getting hit by a mini-van with or without gear doesn't hurt, then you can gloat when you do it and I see you in the afterlife, other than that, I think it's stupid for a full contact sport to not have protective gear as a standard. Maybe it's some kind of overcompensating chest-puffery to try and prove you're more badass than the rest, while not having a mouth full of teeth and internal organs that look like jell-o (and I doubt much brain matter is there to begin with). One could say exerting yourself with over 50 pounds of gear in a similar sport would make them tougher than aussie rules players.

Brought to you by the letter C.

I got to just about there.
If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein

I was just commenting on how silly it is to imply certain sports players are wimps because they wear protective gear. They are both dumb sports that are popular in their own right, why split hairs (but I did, because I needed a new hair cut anyway)

Except for Gridirons need to stop the game after >15sec continous play and swap all the players in a team at the drop of a hankie.

To be a real game you need to play over a huge paddock, have full contact with no protection and no way to get sent off (except for the 'blood rule').
