I want to add some RAM to my mum's Vaio, but it looks like it may not be very straight forward. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular brand.

I opened up my Dell 600m... if there's anything I learned from that its: "Don't open up a laptop without the proper tools"
Needless to say I'm happily typing this message from my shiney new MacBook Pro.
What would be the "proper tools" then?

The really small ones your retailer or the manufacturer uses.
The outside casing just uses a standard phillips head. I might have to just dive in while mum isn't looking, hehe.

A good example i shown at http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading...top-memory.htm
and make sure you get the right kind of RAM as most of the time laptop memory modules are not all that compatible with each other

Hmm, I've had a look on the underside of the computer, but there only seems the option to remove a small cover for the hard drive. There are no obvious sections for removal apart from the whole bottom cover.
