    Crysis Video - CrytekEngine2

Crytek showed this amazing video of a new game called 'Crysis' for the PC. I'm assuming it's using DX10, but it looks freaking amazing. You probably all saw the tech demo for the engine, well here is some actual gameplay. Go to 'watch now' to stream it.CLICKY!

Yup! I also heard some people saying it will be both DX9 and DX10 compatible. Also, I hear the game will play on mid-range cards. So no need to buy a $500 card! I hope these rumors are true.

Amazing! I can't wait to play an mmorpg that feels like that.

Wouldn't get your hopes up about the requirements though. I probably won't be that high, but what they said about Oblivion you would have expected to get fair graphics on mid cards, but it didn't turn out like that.

Anyway, the geforce 7900gt is only $300 USD, it actually outdoes it's $500 ATI rival in some tests (but not most).
Warning: Have doubt in anything I post.

I'll probably just get a DX10 card. Doesn't make sense for me to waste money on a high-range DX9 card, when DX10 is the new thing! An MMORPG would be sick with those graphics, even in a single player experience like a Oblivion, would be so cool. Instead of going through the shrubs, the leaves react, and would make some new strategies for FPS's. This kind of stuff will change the way games are played, for sure!

Looks great. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like they implemented any collision with the plants and the players. You can see the plants move great against the wind, but I'd like to see them move when the player brushes into them.

Well, the big leaves bend when the player runs into it. But the little shrubs I dont think move. But the player can't just walk through them. It looks awesome anyway. I love the damage stuff, like when you shoot down branches.

Yeah, they don't move as much as I expected them to. I see everything moving them, though. Wind, explosions, even bullets affect them, but I saw him run through a pretty thick brush and it seems unphased. Again looks great, though.

My favorite is the video interview where the CEO at the end says "It's coming out for PC. Don't look out for console versions."

isn't there a rule against piracy or something here

anyway it looks good, but if you've palyed farcry you know it was great fun at the begining then got crappy and boring as soon as the monsters were introduced

hopefully they just keep it player vs enemy soldiers this time

I'm interested to see what id has been working on these
past 3 years. I wonder if they can still keep up.

Exactly. This will be tough enough for very high-end PC's to do let alone consoles. I just bought a GeForce 7800 GS which is the fastest AGP card available. I couldn't make the move to PCI-E because that would involve basically upgrading the entire system to 64-bit which I just couldn't afford at this time.

So far she is performing quite well on all my games. There are sections of Joint Operations where I'm down to about 20 FPS but that's in heavily wooded areas and I'm not so sure that engine is completely up to snuff. I've seen it struggle in some strange areas as if it has some resource issues in the code.

But NFS Most Wanted runs like a gem as well as every game I've got so far. Hopefully I can pull another year out of this rig.

I think you just can't promote it.

Mmm... that game is a gem. Have you completed 100%, yet? I have my Career and Most Wanted Records at 100% but I've been too busy for the challenge series. I did manage to get a career mode with 24 cars in the garage, though.

Nah I haven't completed it. I love the game but some of the shaders are overkill if you ask me.
