Alright, we agree then. I just wanted to make sure that you weren't thinking that I was a stupid person for encouraging ethic to get politically active.

Also, just as a point, it is rare that a candidate will agree with you perfectly on everything. This is not an excuse avoid voting. Go with the person who has ideas closest to yours.

I was actually surprised to see so much ..........ing about the price of the thing, the problem is we are used to seeing very low priced consoles because of the tiny set of capabilites they had. They could run games and that was about it. Consoles have been moving more and more towards personal computers, this thing is far more powerful than anything I could get for $600. For a graphics card of the same power I would not only have to pump $350-$400 minimum into that, I would have to buy a new motherboard just to get pci-express, then a new cpu because mine has an old socket, then a lot for a blu-ray reader, at that point I just about have a new computer and it would have cost me well over $600. Another problem is that the new cpu I bought simply wouldn't rival the power of the cell.

The nintendo Wii is rumored to be targeted at $199 - $249 USD. It has wireless motion sensing controlers, integrated web browser (based on Opera), and built-in wifi. Sure its not as computationally powerful as the PS3, but you could buy 3 of them and still have 2 dollers left over for a can of jolt to keep you up all night playing.

I guess the issue here is that while the cell prosessor is definately cool as hell, it doesn't seem neccessary. I guess we'll see.

    edit:
in related news, MS likes the Wii

"Tell me why you would buy a $600 PS3?" Peter Moore, a Microsoft vice president, said in an interview. "People are going to buy two (machines.) They're going to buy an Xbox and they're going to buy a Wii ... for the price of one PS3."

Good harware and a fancy rendering engine are nothing without good artists.
Mmmkay, so I'm just going to follow up this misquotation with a rebuttal if you don't mind. I said:

Now lets break this down. You said:
    all the animation sequences
    I said:

Perhaps, for the people who can't really put it together, I should have said in game choreography, as well. That covers your animation sequences. All the little things like how things fall and blow around aren't the artist. They're the programmers controlling the physics. You said:
all the level designs... character design
    I said:
concept art of the characters and scenery
That's all they do for the characters. All the rendering is done via the programs written by the programmers.... and if you want to say that they're designed by artists with a program like Maya or 3DS Max or the likes, then I want you to consider that it is a program. Much of what the artist can accomplish on those programs are due to the programmers. Yes, the artists do great stuff, as I replied. But give some credit where it's due. Programming is an art in itself.

Now, with the exception of the textures (which I thought character and scenery concepts covered, though I see it really doesn't) and the plot, which I could see how you call the writers artists, as well, but again, not as we were discussing, I pretty much covered exactly what you said. So if I "couldn't be more wrong," then apparently, you couldn't be more wrong, either.

Wii is good. I'm glad that there is a low priced option available. They really are living proof that you don't need the most power to be successful. Not only is it good for the people who can't afford the other systems, it also sells to people like me who figure, it's so cheap, I might as well buy it ontop of any other system I might buy.

    Thanks, man. <3

You suck at reading. Or comprehension. Or both. No one said otherwise.
Wrong. Of course. Typical you. I've known you for a long time,
Descryption, and I have NEVER known to be as wrong as you
    are at this very moment.

If you want to turn this into an argument of semantics, go right
ahead. But his intent should have been obvious: He was trying
to make an analogy between me and a 13 year old who professes
a preference of one console over another. All of which is under
    the context of video games.

    So, in essence, he said:

More often than not, people that discuss politics and music are
more intelligent than people who discuss video games.
If I lack reading comprehension skills, you lack basic deductive
    reasoning ability.

Don't even bother debating this particular issue anymore, because
you'll never get me to believe I was wrong. Just won't happened.
And really, I'd rather spend my time replying to all the other people
that were wrong in their responses to the things I said.

which will probably have to wait 'til tomorrow, because I have to
    work tonight.

OK, seriously. This coming from the guy who's spent this entire thread rabidly professing his love for a hand-held video game. There's a saying that goes "the pot calling the kettle black."
I don't understand. What pot? Kettle? You're not
    making any sense.

WE GET IT. You like Nintendo above all other video game related companies. Point made. Brain Age sounds like fun. You love your DS. Great. I hope you have a long and happy life together, and have lots of bitter, Sony-hating little handheld children.
You should actually be thanking me for creating this thread. This
debate broke the monotony of your life. It is the most exciting thing
that has happened to you all week. It has to be; you live in Wisconsin.

To me, freedom implies a choice. And exercising my right not
to vote is more important. I hate the idea of compulsory voting. And
all you people who critisize those of us that chose not to vote are
trying to take away our right. So, really, it can be argued that you
people are the the rea opponents of freedom.

    Thanks.

There are several other reasons why I chose not to vote, but I don't
have the time to go int them right now. I want to finish reading my
heroic 7 page thread before I go to bed. I'm only on page 6 and
some kid is trying to rally support against me (deja vu) and get me
banned from my own thread. It's getting very interesting. I wanna
    see what happens.
