Going to get it as a reward if I manage to complete the rest of my computing coursework in the next 6 days.

I'm still a bit "hmm" about whether or not my system will cope with it though

    EDIT: Wootage, 800 posts

I've only had time to play it for a little more than an hour. Unfortunately it took almost that entire time to make a character that didn't look like someone from the Munsters.

Yeah, I have it. Regular editon though, not the collector's edition. I got it for my Xbox 360, since I don't want to be worried about upgrading my computer if it runs bad. It's a pretty sweet game though, do anything you want, and have some fun. That's why I like the series soooooooo much.

    Lock picking is ridiculous.

I broke at least 20 picks on this one lock

And my friend did it the first time.

I never got into the Elder Scrolls series since I heard about how glitchy Morrowind was. But then again, I played, and thoroughly enjoyed both Gothic games, which were about as glitchy as a game gets. Mad_guy's lockpick comment made me think of it.

    I'd consider buying this, though.

only glitches I encountered in Morrowind were the occasional memory leaks.

Lockpicking is in part ruled by chance, in part by the quality of your lockpicks, in part by your skills and their levels.
It's quite possible for a character to pick a lock in one try that another needs 20 tries to pick or can't pick at all because it's too complex.

That just applies for Morrowind, though. There's actually a minigame of sorts in Oblivion.

Only two complaints so far about Oblivion. One is that the the face gen is a little too realistic making most faces in the game look like they've been bashed in with an ugly stick. Other complaint is that the ability wheel is not shown on the screen meaning I have memorize which number key I put all of my action/spells. For a magic using character its a serious pain to have to remember that I put my fireball spell as key '4' instead of say a healing spell while in the middle of a fight.

The only other complaint was not being able to sell stolen items but they've just created a mod to fix that

I haven't noticed any glitches yet really. Awesome game!

I used to spend hours pillaging cities for pillows...plates, cups, and other random crap making thousands of dollars doing so. If only real life were based on Morrowind.
