Oh...Do you mean the "run" key stored for instance in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run?.......
If so a far more effective way is to use the windows program MSCONFIG......this is easier to use, safer and also gathers all the start locations in one place..........

Hannwaas: I had some problems as well when I re-installed my Windows98SE copy. I tried several different copies.
Finally I just intalled my hard drive in my brother's system. I installed Windows in that computer, and then put the hard drive back to my computer with Windows98 SE running. All I had to do afterwords was to reinstall all the hardware.
