    Co-worker death

Went to work today to find out that one of my former co-workers died this morning on their way to work. Seems he had his car impounded for expired tags and an expired license. His girlfriend was working early this morning so he walked to work and was struck by a mini-van as he crossed a road very near to the factory.

I'll always remember him as a jovial easy-going fella who was always willing to help. Sometimes days at work just suck. It's so odd that he worked around all the heavy equipment that we build and move from here to there and yet he was killed by a small little mini-van. We take worker safety very seriously and we took care of him quite well. Doesn't make sense and the poor guy didn't deserve to die like that, much less die at all. I bet on his way to work this morning the last thing that crossed his mind was that he was going to die before he got there. It's just too weird to even fathom.

Rest in peace my friend. You'll be missed.

It was the funeral of a friend of mine yesterday. Another nice guy. Was at a motor show, felt a bit off and went into the supermarket to buy some indigestion tablets. Went back to his car in the car park and was found dead there later.

    Makes no sense.

    Sorry for your loss Bubba.

Sorry for my earlier reply - I was trying to make things a little lighter, but I can certainly see why it would have been removed. It was in poor taste.

The thing that always strikes me about moments like this is how final and sudden it is. Even silly things like typing this reply or getting in an argument seem a little different. Life is a precious thing, and can be so fragile sometimes.
