is it a free service? sortof.... "pay per click" sure you can set it to 0 if you list a site .... but rarely ever get if at all to the top of the list.

The main problem is the word list that ppl use to get "hits" when the search is done. ppl use entire dictionarys! 20,000 word that are not even related to the site. so it does not matter if you type doll dog door or car the same sites come up time and time again so that the search end up getting 9999,999,999 results most of which are NOT related to what you search for.

    How to fix it?

how to get them to limit their word lists to only a few words that really describe the sites and make it more effective? yes i nervous bout posting a thread like this but the user can only do so much so one ends up with a search like this .... doll -car -dog -etc.....see?

even if you are "tracked" from site to site one only one internet session that is still cyberstalking... but to use spybot after each session take 45 minutes that could be doing something else...well so some stuff while scanning but there are other things to do to.

thank you all for you comments and suggestions you know it is a love dislike relationship with this search engine....

I dont get the point of this whole discussion, its a service you either choose to use or not to use...

Its not like someone is pointing a gun at you, forcing to use this search engine.

I'd suggest the following: Get a life and get over it!

It amazes me that someone comes up with a search engine that has Microsoft foaming at the mouth and yet people still find something wrong with it.

    Face it, google is king.

Perhaps you haven't had experience with the other 'get a hit if you are popular and pay more' search engines? On google you can search on the remotest topic in the world and it will point to some little known website. That's powerful.

Instead of blocking cookies from sites that you don't want cookies from, why not block all cookies except from sites you want to use cookies for? You can do this with IE.

I'm pretty sure they don't need your help and I don't see how this thread is contributing to the cause.

What the hell are you talking about-- and why the hell are you spelling it gaagle?
google (along with most other modern engines) doesn't even use the meta keyword (or very little) crap to fetch results on your search, and as for results being inaccurate and unhelpful, you must be terrible at searching. Ask a question and if I'm online I can surely find you an answer with google.
If you honestly think they use the keywords people supply then go hunt down their patent and read up, this thread is rediculous.

If there is anything wrong with google it's the fact that you can have redirection sites listed on it. That allows the worst sites in the world to be #1... and #2... and #3...#4...#5......#50 on certain searches. I personally thing if a URL is nothing more than a redirect, search engines shouldn't have it.

Clearly, kryptkat has created this new word, because kryptkat is a trend setter. We just don't know about it because we're not "cool" forum geeks. kryptkat is so alternative. You're all just stuck in the mainstream.

Personally I can fully understand why people don't trust Google with their personal life story and want nothing to do with them.
But then I'm one of those people who do just that. I block all their cookies (from ALL their domains that I can find), never click on their ads (sorry for people trying to make money by buying into Googleads), and never use their services.
This doesn't stop them from building a profile about me for use against me at some point, but it sure makes it harder and less complete.

And for people saying they couldn't live without Google, get a life. Google isn't divine, if anything they're demonic.
They've not been around for long, the world did quite well without them.
In fact they started around the same time as the economic collapse in Europe and the US a few years ago. While there may not be a link between the two events it does raise some suspicion

    "Google it".

Google has made life easier on normal people, people that arent able to take several days looking up the anatomy of a sheep bladder. :P.

Mmm, I love cookies. Google makes em yummy.

There are many other search engines, many of them just as good or better.
I don't need to get 5 million results when I search for something, 4.999.990 of them porn sites
