    virus problem

    my pc is affected with vbs.redlof virus ... avg dectects it but fails to heal it ... i searched on the net n found of set of instructions to get rid of tht virus .... they say to delete the entry "Kernel32="%System%\Kernel.dll" 4m the registry n then to restore it 4m the windows cd ... can ne1 tell me how to restore tht ??

    They're more complete and won't require that you restore with the windows cd

    And besides, the definition doesn't really fit the work. He's using 4m like "from". That's probably what it means.

    You can use regedit to modify the registry, but be carefull.

    ... and I spelled dictionary wrong on purpose as well... that way noone could say "HEY DICTIONARY.COM DOESN'T SAY THAT!!!"

    The safest method to get rid of a virus ( and if you've got one, you might as well have a dozen more ) is to completely format and reinstall your system from scratch. Anything else will be a battle of wits between you and the virus programmer. Not a good thing when s/he already won the first round
