    Back Pain

This is one problem that has been troubling me for quite a lot of time..pain in the lower back region..after endless hours of sitting in front of my beloved computer, staring at its dazzling screen, i end my day tossing and turning in bed with a bad case of back pain. Has anyone here faced this problem? What did u do to over come this?

How regularly do get some physical exercise? I find that when I am sitting for long periods, I start to get some back trouble sometimes. A good dose of walking usually does the trick.

I really need to exercise a lot more i guess..i am currently in the 180 -190 pound range
I have tried taking regular breaks, but the breaks dont last longer than 10 mins usually.. maybe i need to take longer breaks.

How often do you take them? Maybe try increasing the frequency?

How's your posture while you're sitting? I find that after a long day of slouching I have the same problem.

Though pretty much everyone rolls their eyes when they see it, check out one of those ergonomics-type charts for how your chair, monitor, desk, etc. should be set up. It's surprising how much changing something like the height of your chair just a little bit can help...

Usually if I'm just feeling a little worn down, what helps the most is to just eat some fruit, run a couple of miles, and then go to bed early. Now granted, more serious treatment may be required if problems get too serious, but I think all too often we take the health benefits of a frisbee for granted.

    get out of the house!

invest in an ergonomic chair. Don't lean forward while sitting and change positions often. But yeah dude, maybe get a dog or something so you can walk it couple times a day. How old are you anyways? I'm 22 and I never get back pain save a few times after sleeping in a weird position.

It is probably your striatic nerve in the lower back region giving you problems. I don't think I spelled it right, but that's probably the source of your pain.

This pain can be caused by excessive periods of standing, slouching, sitting, etc. I've also found that long hours at work standing on a concrete floor also tend to irritate this region.

I would use some type of sports cream to treat the pain, change your posture, and/or consult a doctor to make sure it isn't something serious. Pain that does not go away or recurring pain is not something to take lightly. So be safe and consult a physician.

I think you mean the sciatic, Bubba.

    Good advice, though.
