    Windows Media Player 7.1...

I downloaded this a few weeks back however it's causing some problems...

..after a few minutes of relatively normal behaviour the music stops and it freezes...I cannot close it, change it, do anything to it. What's more it renders all my other MS software unusuable ba the OS (MS Windows 200 Pro) itself...
    MSN Messenger
    IE
    MS Works
    MS Money
etc....will not function at all and *everything* slows down to a crawl. It's getting to be more than slightly annoying now. I did download it again but the same thing happened. It's just one it again however I'm using Netscape 6.2 which is a blessing.
I admit to being slightly surprised that I couldn't get a response from Microsoft with regard to this as I have ranted several times.

Has anyone else had this problem or an idea of how to stop this psycho program doing what it's doing or not doing?
    Cheers!

there a a couple of known issues with media player - if you use task manager while the player is playing then it can freeze or if you click options on the tools menu. Also what graphics card and drivers are you using, as for example nvidia tnt cards sometimes have a problem while using media player - you may need to update your graphics card drivers.

I think that the WMP7 has a conflict with either Rundll.exe or Rundll32.exe. Without them, you cannot run any Dynamic Data Library.

    Cheers guys!! Appreciated!

As for the MS software comment well... ...too true though I have not experienced this trouble in the past. Though I despise MS on principle the Windows OS is superior to all others in my opinion and the software is easy to use (when it works).

Okay, I'm an idiot. It wasn't WMP...

...it was IE 6.0. I always have the two of them running at the same time. The MP works fine without IE. Bye, bye IE 6.0. I shall stay always faithful to Netscape 6.2.

    Internet Explorer Version 6.0.2600.0000.xpclient.010817-1148

    and
    Windows Media Player Version 8.00.00.4477
